Abstract:

Not all Consumer and Industrial Internet of Things (CIoT, IIoT) applications have the luxury of starting with a blank sheet of paper for designing the system from ground-up. Often IoT features have to be built around existing systems designed using proprietary technologies or vertical standards. As a consequence the ability to easily integrate communication standards, proprietary protocols and data stores is key in accelerating the development of IoT capabilities.

This webcast will showcase how the Vortex Gateway can be used to easily integrate different communication standards / data stores and demonstrate how to quickly develop connectors for proprietary technologies.

Angelo Corsaro, Ph.D. is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at PrismTech where he directs the technology strategy, planning, evolution, and evangelism. Angelo leads the strategic standardization at the Object Management Group (OMG), where he co-chairs the Data Distribution Service (DDS) Special Interest Group and serves on the Architecture Board. Angelo is a widely known and cited expert in the field of real-time and distributed systems, middleware, and software patterns, has authored several international standards and enjoys over 10+ years of experience in technology management and design of high performance mission- and business-critical distributed systems. Angelo received a Ph.D. and a M.S. in Computer Science from the Washington University in St. Louis, and a Laurea Magna cum Laude in Computer Engineering from the University of Catania, Italy.

PrismTech to Present Vortex Intelligent Data Sharing Platform at Industrial Internet Consortium Meeting

Vortex presentation features as part of IIC’s “member information sessions” at its quarterly meeting in Austin, Texas

Boston, MA, USA – September 05, 2014 – PrismTech™, a global leader in software platforms for distributed systems, will be a featured presenter during the “member information sessions” prior to the start of the Industrial Internet Consortium’s quarterly meeting scheduled in September in Austin, Texas.

The day-long member information sessions are scheduled September 15 at the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol in Austin and will feature several consortium members.  PrismTech’s session titled “Vortex™: The Intelligent Data Sharing Platform for the Industrial Internet of Things” will run from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm.  Company executives and technical leaders will provide an overview of the Vortex platform for Industrial Internet environments, including a detailed Q&A session.
