PrismTech to Present Software Defined Radio Development and Cognitive Radio Management Papers at SDR-WInnComm 2014

Boston, MA, USA – March 7, 2014 – PrismTech™, a global leader in software defined radio (SDR) solutions, today announced that it will be presenting its latest ideas on SDR system modeling and approaches to Cognitive Radio management at the SDR-WInnComm 2014 Conference to be held in Schaumburg, IL, USA from March 11-13, 2014.

PrismTech’s Spectra CTO, and leading SDR expert, Dr. Vince Kovarik will be presenting two papers during the March 11 “Future Trends” session on:

  • Integrated Communication Systems Modeling: A Model Based Engineering Approach – this paper will discuss the Integrated Communications System Model (ICSM) project which is focused on developing a model-based reference architecture for communications systems using the Systems Modeling Language (SysML) standard.
  • Reflective Language for Communication Systems – this paper will present an approach to implementing a cognitive radio management system based on reflective programming.

PrismTech Announces the Addition of SCA 4.0 Middleware to its Spectra DTP4700 SDR Development and Test Platform

Facilitates SCA compliance for GPP, DSP and FPGA components, thus enabling: more efficient component inter-operability and portability, faster development and deployment, and greater IP reuse

SDR-WInnComm Conference, Washington, DC, USA – January 8, 2012 – PrismTech™, a global leader in standards-based, performance-critical middleware, today announced that it will soon be adding Software Communications Architecture (SCA) 4.0 middleware support to its Spectra™ DTP4700 Software Defined Radio (SDR) development and test platform.

This innovation is a significant application and demonstration of PrismTech’s Spectra Common Data Bus (CDB) embedded middleware to facilitate the inter-operability and portability of application components deployed across different processors on a SDR platform (i.e. General Purpose Processors (GPPs), Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)).  Spectra CDB can support SCA-compliance for both SCA 2.2.2 and SCA 4.0 specifications.

73rd Wireless Innovation Forum Working Meeting, Melbourne, FL, USA – October 31, 2012 – PrismTech™, a global leader in standards-based, performance-critical middleware, today announced the availability of the Probes Toolbox for its Spectra™ DTP4700 Software Defined Radio (SDR) development and test platform.

The Probes Toolbox provides real-time debugging tools with the ability to prove and excite waveform elements, thus allowing piecemeal integration of waveform components one-by-one and the independent validation of component temporal, processor, and memory behaviors.  Probe data is visualized either with an internal visualizer or through MATLAB/Simulink, thus eliminating the need for additional third-party tooling licenses for data visualization.

The Data Probe allows for monitoring or injection of real-time system flow data.  The Resource Probe provides graphical or textual representation of memory and CPU utilization, CPU resources, and allows memory PEEKs and POKEs.  The Latency Probe provides a graphical display of latency for user-defined probe points based on a uniform system time reference.  The Traffic Probe captures and displays network traffic.  A Software Communications Architecture (SCA) Adapter Probe provides latency, traffic and data probes in an SCA-compliant environment.
